Introductory skills based class that practices donning and operating within the personal protective equipment and breathing apparatus used by structural firefighters. Students will also learn how to tie various knots used in the fire service, operate as a team to provide CPR, use proper body mechanics to move patients and rescue other firefighters and how to operate a charged hoseline. Students taking this class must have the physical ability to crawl 100 feet wearing firefighter gear with a breathing apparatus weighing approximately 45 pounds combined.
