English Language Development

EL Social Studies is a class designed for students who are newcomer English Language Learners.  The environment is conducive to smaller learning groups and more one-on-one adult interaction in which students can develop their language skills while obtaining their social studies credit.  Students must be enrolled as an English Language Learner level 1 to be enrolled in EL Social Studies. EL Social Studies is aligned with 9th-grade Modern US History coursework and standards. May take more than once for credit. Prerequisite: ELD1, ELD2, and select ELD3 only.
