Families and Greater McMinnville High School Community

Our MHS administrative team and athletic department have been working together with state and district guidance to update our protocols and scheduling of events in response to the COVID-19 virus. We are sending out this preliminary communication in an attempt to get information to families in a timely manner. As much can transpire in a week’s time, we will continue to communicate and elaborate in response to any guidance or changes as we learn of them. Please remember, while safety remains our number one priority, we also remain committed to fostering an engaging and robust education at McMinnville High School. We are determined to collaborate and  innovate throughout this time to provide students with the best experience possible.

Please see the message below from Dr. Russell regarding the most recent updates:

  • Dr. Amy Fast, Principal

You may be aware that new guidance from the Governors' office, the Oregon Health Authority, and the Oregon Department of Education were issued. Schools will remain open but most ancillary activities and functions will be canceled for the next 30 day period. This includes assemblies, field trips, fundraisers, plays, and performances. Our schools will be closed for evening and weekend use by groups and organizations as well.

These steps are intended to slow the transmission of COVID-19 by minimizing the frequency of group activities while balancing opportunities for students to remain in a supervised setting during the regular school day and continue their learning.

Please find below a list of MHS cancellations to date.  Updates regarding district or school program changes may be found on the district website at

Please emphasize with children, friends, and family the importance of handwashing, covering your mouth with your elbow when coughing or sneezing, and if you or your child are ill stay home. Working together on these important habits will help us keep our children and our community safe.
